There were lots of basics provided in the kitchen which was appreciated. The hot tub is spacious and was ready to use throughout the stay. The garden was secure for dogs. Beautiful house and views. Highly recommend. Would love to go again
We stayed at Lower Hodre for 3 nights 7 adults and 2 children and loved every minute of it! The photographs do not do the house justice it hasany quirky rooms and is set in beautiful remote surroundings. The children loved exploring the house, gardens and days out at Clun Festival and nearby Wood n Ribbon. Once you have stocked up on all your essentials the house has everything you need for some quality time away with friends and family! Emma is a fantastic host and was on hand to answer any questions even going the extra mile to drive to nearby village to pick up a parcel for one of the party! We cannot wait to come back to Lower Hodre
Fabulous home from home. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. We were made so welcome on our arrival that we felt like we were visiting good friends. A unique and gem of a find.

Lower Hodre is a beautiful old House in the middle of the rolling Shropshire hills . It has everything you might need for a comfortable country holiday. Lots of parking, a big well equipped kitchen and several downstairs rooms. The bedrooms were comfortable and very clean. The broadband is more than fast enough for a family that likes to remain connected. The views are all tremendous with lots of nature to see an the big hot tub is perfect.. If you want to get away from it all then book this house. If its available the days you want it then book it .. Take walking boots and seasonally appropriate coats for the walks all around.. Take your binoculars if you have them to watch the Red Kites.

Lower Hodre is a well equipped, beautifully decorated and furnished, comfortable, spotlessly clean property in a beautiful setting. A perfect place to stay for a family gathering although there are quite a few low beams and steps. 8 of us stayed there for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. We would definitely stay there again. Loved the hot tub and watching the wild rabbits in the field opposite!

We had a fantastic time at Lower Hodre over the weekend. The house was exactly what we were after for a get together of 8 adults and 5 children. Everything we needed was there a well equipped kitchen, plenty of seating areas and a great patiohot tubgarden area. We especially liked how private and safe the location is so the children could be outside playing without us worrying. Thank you very much!
Daphne
The biggest issue was the garden listed as 'enclosed' which it wasn't. We had 2 dogs and an autistic child who all needed very close supervision because they either escaped onto the road or into the neighbouring property. The outdoor furniture is in need of updating. The table in particular was rotting with a plank missing. However, the cottage was still a wonderful experience and it wouldn't take much to make it 5 stars across the board.
Thank you for a lovely weekend. We were a party of 8 adults and three childreninfants, all very comfortable in Lower Hodre. Emma was friendly and welcoming.

The cottage is beautiful and was ideal for our stay, very spacious and full of character. The owner Emma is a delight to communicate with and very kind and thoughtful, she went out of her way to ensure our weekend was just perfect.
I booked Lower Hodre to celebrate my 30th birthday with a group of close friends. I wanted to stay somewhere secluded, big enough, cosy enough and with a hot tub and enjoy a weekend away in the countryside.... I was not disappointed!! Everyone had an amazing time. Emma, the host, was so accommodating, kind, friendly and welcoming of us into her home. You can tell Emma has a genuine care for her guests and wants them to enjoy their stay in her property which was really lovely to experience. The place was immaculate. Check in was mega easy. I think this was the best hot tub I've been in extremely clean and maintained very well. Bonus that it was so close to the house and undercover too. There was plenty of space for us all. The house itself was gorgeous. The kitchen was very well equipped too, with all the essentials. I couldn't have picked a better place for us to stay. Emma, thank you so much. I'd love to come back one day! All the best xx
We had a fantastic stay at Lower Hodre. The house and grounds are beautiful and well kept. It was the perfect spot for a large group get away. Would definitely recommend, and would stay again!
Property needed a little refresh in places but otherwise we had a lovely stay. Shame no champers & Ferrero Rocher on the kitchen top when we arrived as per snaps! Theyre my fav
Beautiful cottage in idyllic surroundings. We stayed for 2 nights wanted to stay longer but work commitments of one of our party meant we couldnt. I could have easily stayed here for alit longer though. The cottage and surrounding area was so beautiful and peaceful and even my dog didnt want to leave! Emma the owner was lovely so accommodating and friendly. Will definitely book here again .
Just back from a lovely family holiday at Lower Hodre. Highly recommended for a break in the beautiful rural Shropshire Hills area. Plenty of hilly walking locally. Lovely local towns. Large, clean house with a great kitchen and of course the super hot tub. Looking forward to returning some time.
An amazing house in the most picturesque setting. We couldn't have wished for a better weekend break, the house was absolutely immaculate with lots of space, but comfortable too. Emma, the owner came over to meet us, she's such a lovely person, very helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for her. The hot tub was just perfect, loads of room for 5 of us to chill and relax whilst enjoying the stunning scenery. We really didn't want to leave this beautiful place, and are looking forward to returning again soon. Many thanks Emma. Marian & family

The house is in a beautiful setting. The garden is safe for little ones to play in. We all loved the wildlife around the house especially watching the house martins building their nest. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Relaxing in the hot tub looking at the view was amazing.

We usually have three or four holidays each year in the UK. Over the years weve never gone back to the same place twice, preferring to explore different parts of the country on our trips away. Lower Hodre is the only exception to this rule of ours. We first discovered it in 2019 and loved it so much we booked again for 2020. The first time weve ever done this.. Unfortunately Covid lockdowns scuppered these plans and that holiday was held over until this year the week weve just come back from last Friday. Its still the most comfortable, luxurious home and tranquil location we remembered so fondly from our previous visit. Emma, the owner, is still the most superb Host nothing is too much trouble for her and she really does go the extra mile to ensure her guests have anything and everything they need. In short, Lower Hodre is definitely our most favourite holiday let anywhere in the UK. So much so I shall be ringing you tomorrow Monday September 13th to book yet another week at this fabulous place for next year. Were hoping to reserve the week from the 9th to the 16th September in 2022. Now you cant get a better recommendation than that, can you?!
Magnificent getaway to the middle of nowhere. Lovely welcoming host, amazing outlook across the fields and hills. 30 mins to Ludlow which was fine, and Sainsburys delivery saw us through. Hot tub great for the kids and late nights looking across the view. Loved it. Would definitely go back, but you need to mind your head! Water is always scorchingly hot btw.
Had a wonderful week with my family 14th May till 21st May, everything you ... Had a wonderful week with my family 14th May till 21st May, everything you needed lovely and clean we highly recommend this cottage, the hot tub was amazing thank you Emma hope to see you again in the future penny

My Husband and I stayed at this property for a week following lockdown. The property is a traditional farmhouse full of character and original features but with modern kitchen and bathrooms. It looks very Impressive as you come over the hill on the approach. It stands in its own large garden overlooking open countryside. There are a couple of other properties nearby yet you are not overlooked. The covered hot tub area is ideal it is decked out allowing easy access to the large well maintained hot tub. It looked exactly as on the pictures and is a nice private area. It allowed us to spend many relaxing hours looking out at the lovely countryside even had the privilege of seeing the Tawny Owl flying past what a bonus. The owl box is in the large tree at the side of the hot tub area so you can hear him hooting around 9pm as he prepares to go off hunting. The house is well kitted out, even a few basic food provisions to get you started. Plenty of logs for the two log burners too. Bedding and towels are of good quality with luxury mattress toppers and pillow protectors. Made for a good nights sleep as the bed was very comfortable. We are keen walkers and the surrounding area provided lots of opportunity for easy or strenuous walks. You can even walk from the door. The owners are really lovely people, very friendly and approachable. Their home is fairly close but your privacy is well respected they are not at all intrusive. We felt they went to great lengths to ensure our stay was enjoyable nothing was too much trouble super hosts in fact
A fantastic cottage, very welcoming and comfortable, the hot tub was a very welcomed addition. The host was very pleasant and made us feel at home, looking forward to returning.
The cottage , surroundings , hot tub are all amazing and the host was so lovely and welcoming. Defiantly would like to return.
The host, Emma, was very helpful and contacted me about a week before our stay. She provided a lot of information on the area and answered all my questions quickly. She welcomed us on arrival and had kindly provided some essentials as milk, bread, butter, eggs and a lovely cake. The house is done beautifully with a lot of character and good amount of facilities. We came with our two large dogs and it was very nice to see that there were some dog bowls and dog towels. Fantastic house and even better host, we hope to come here again.
Great escape to the middle of nowhere. Four generations & two dogs having family fun, playing games, time in hot tub of course , cooking and loving quality time together. Perfect getaway for relaxing , appreciating the true beauty of nature and most importantly nourishing the soul. Emma and little Pia great hosts. Luckily Covid 19 didnt ruin this staycation !! Ps go by Emmas directions not sat nav otherwise you end up down a narrow cul desac. Will be booking again !! Thank you Emma and family x
Absolutely fantastic holiday, perfect post lock down getaway in the heart of Shropshire. Hosts were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. No phone signal at the property which for me was a bonus as I could switch off from work! Good WiFi to compensate for anyone that wants to stay in touch with the outside world. Hot Tub was heavenly after a day out exploring. Print off and follow the instructions given by Emma to find the property, this will prevent you from travelling down miles of single track roads if you follow your Sat Nav. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay.
