Mill Cottage Reviews

Mill Cottage is the nicest holiday rental we have stayed at. It is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location, perfect for walking and relaxing and just enjoying the scenery and peace and quiet. We also enjoyed exploring the local area especially Ludlow. We are already planning to return to Mill Cottage.
Had a wonderful stay, gorgeous cottage, well equipped, very dog friendly and the hosts were more than helpful. We were very lucky with the weather and got the hot tub going most days, which was so relaxing. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a relaxing stay, surrounded by nature.
Alexandra
The best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Every convenience has been considered, and it manages to marry comfort and a traditional feel in a way that is very impressive.
Mill Cottage was absolutely perfect, well equipped, cosy & in a stunning setting. We slept so well in the most comfortable bed & woke to the sound of the waterfall which was sheer bliss. The hot tub was nice to relax with some bubbly & on hot days, to cool down in after long walks. Mike & Belinda are lovely hosts & we highly recommend the Bee Fairy products but best of all .. Belindas Damson Ketchup !
Allison
Absolutely stunning cottage with excellent amenities in a peaceful location. This is a great place to get away and unwind in the beautiful countryside around you. The sumptuous bath and hot tub were very welcome after our long walks.
Amazing tranquil location. Very comfortable accommodation with everything you need in this stunning cottage. Mike and Belinda Very friendly hosts and nothing was too much trouble.
Debbie
What a fabulous place! ! We had the most relaxing week ever staying at Mill Cottage. Everything was perfect & the cottage is beautiful throughout, seeing the waterfall from every window was amazing. The best welcome pack we've ever had which included home made jam, eggs, delicious cake & even dog treats. It was very well equipped & the walks from the door through private grounds were just lovely. Perfect for Rosie too! Thanks Belinda & Mike for a great week we hope to come back again soon
This is a great location for the area, and lets face it a very different place to stay. Time of year for the location is key, soil tends to be clay and with so much rain many low areas are just bog or very slippy nothing to do with the owners, just that weather! Property we liked naturally with so many stairs not suitable if you're not able. There are some minor areas of improvements in the property and site but very minor and should put anyone off. Walks from the property especially the wood at the top of the hill down the valley I recommend. Many other walks in the area are good but better when not so wet! There are many good stately homes to view nearby, any everyone in the area is friendly, but pub food serving days has been restricted in many local pubs always best to call!
Beautiful cottage in a lovely area close to great attractions towns. The hot tub and welcome hamper were treats. The set up of the cottage is ideal for those with dogs with a handy wash down towel drying area! We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay, thank you. The Bee Fairy products made by the owners are lovely too.
Michael
We had a lovely stay at mill cottage it was warm 247 and very cosy, hamper on arrival with local made produce, Mike and Belinda were very helpful could not fault our stay at all, And the hot tub was lovely on Boxing Day.
Lovely welcoming hosts. Beautiful property and grounds a lovely place to relax and unwind. We felt at home. Our dog Lulu is very much part of our family and it meant a lot to us that she was made so welcome too. Hamper of local goodies was a nice touch it was a lovely treat after a long journey. We will definitely be returning for another break.
Helena
We had a fantastic stay at Mill Cottage. Such a relaxing and tranquil setting, and Belinda & Mike are lovely hosts. The cottage is well equipped, particularly for dog owners, there was even a fresh bowl of water on arrival as well as dog treats part of a very well stocked human welcome hamper!, dog towel and guards for the garden to keep them secure. A very thoughtful holiday cottage, allowing you to truly unwind!
A very relaxing stay at a beautiful cottage, we couldnt ask for anymore. Little touches like the welcome basket and organising of a birthday cake on my behalf made it even more special. Ill miss the sound of the waterfall, but will be hoping to return again! Thank you both, Mike & Belinda for having us stay.
Gorgeous, comfortable cottage, wonderful surroundings. Peaceful and relaxing, falling asleep to the sound of the waterfall outside the bedroom window and watching the stars from the hot tub. Perfect!
Mill Cottage is an idyllic rural retreat. Set in a valley amidst beautiful countryside it makes a perfect getaway from everyday life. The cottage is well equipped & the owners have succeeded in making this property both stylish & comfortable. There are some lovely finishing touches to the cottage that you do not often find. The welcome hamper was a perfect example of this. We had a very enjoyable holiday.

Absolutely stunning cottage in stunning surroundings, run by an amazing couple, who ensured our stay was perfect. Our dog absolutely loved it too. Everything you could wish for to enjoy a relaxing break
Excellent property, but the kitchen area has limited work space,, tripping ... Excellent property, but the kitchen area has limited work space,, tripping hazard when entering the property at ground level, courtyard area stone slabs are very uneven
The property was lovely and quirky. The location setting was perfect and we both felt very relaxed from the moment we arrived. We received a very warm welcome and quickly settled in. As a converted old building, there was bags of character. The only part of the building we weren't as comfortable in was the loungekitchen as it felt like it needed more light. We made extensive use of the wood burner hot tub and enjoyed the produce made on site. We were also lucky enough to experience bee keeping, learning about the bees and honey production. Needless to say, we purchased honey to take home, along with some other goodies.
Absolutely superb, we loved it, the dogs loved it, cant wait to return. Easy to see why this cottage has won the awards it has, wonderful hosts, gorgeous setting & beautiful cottage.
Heather

Fantastic cottage in superb location. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Wonderful walks for our dogs in stunning countryside. Could not fault anything about the cottage or facilities. Thanks very much, Sykes, you provided us with an absolutely wonderful break.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely walks, wonderful hosts and a fab little cottage. The sound of the waterfall was the most relaxing thing! And the hot tub was blissful. Thank you so much!
A wonderful, relaxing stay in this beautiful cottage. The cottage is set in the most idyllic surroundings, with lovely walks right on your door step. The sound of the waterfall right outside your window is so relaxing. Thank you to Mike and Belinda for being such excellent hosts and the welcome hamper on arrival was fantastic.

We had a wonderful time at Hanley mill with fantastic walks right on the doorstep, the welcome pack with tray of goodies was second to non , a unique place to stay.
Mill Cottage was stunning. Everything we expected and more. The owners are so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Idyllic setting, so quiet and away from it all. Cannot wait to return. Absolutely loved it.
A lovely cottage, extremely comfortable, in a beautiful and quiet area. Lots of walks from the front door. A very safe place for dogs to wander. The hot tub was a delight although a bit of a faff to do ourselves and Mike was far more efficient at heating it up than we were. Mike was also extremely hands on and sorted out any problems instantly. There was a marvellous welcome pack on arrival including treats for the dog. Belinda and Mike are very friendly hosts and we would recommend Mill Cottage.
Gorgeous cosy property with the refreshing sound of rushing water, starlit hottub, wonderful welcome tray with homemade everything, and rolling hillside walks in every direction. Perfect.
Fabulous stay, first class facilities, lovely welcome and location. Great walks round the estate no need to travel anywhere else. 5.

It was a fantastic cottage, lovely setting, very clean. The waterfall outside the window was very soothing at night and the hot tub was lovely. we had a wonderful relaxing time with plenty of walks from Mill Cottage. Belinda left us cakes, apple juice for when when arrived which was delicious and very welcome after our journey there. Couldn't of asked for better hosts or accommodation. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Joanne

We just loved the holiday so much and the beautiful Cottage we stayed in was amazing , we will recommend to friends and family .
Michael
Absolutely gorgeous cottage with the friendliest hosts who were on hand if needed but left us to our enjoy their beautiful property and surroundings. We cant wait to go back. Its a shame Sykes were so poor at communicating, but dont let their poor service detract from the wonderful property and the generosity and warmest of welcomes from Mike and Belinda who feel like friends! The cottage is stunning with so much attention to detail and the tranquil setting is a real haven. I will never forget listening to the hypnotic sound of the waterfall and the hot tub is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring this beautiful part of the world.
Trevor
We were greeted by the owners, Belinda and Mike, and their furry dog Ola. The cottage is set within such beautiful & tranquil grounds surrounded by wonderful countryside. The hamper filled with home produce was an unexpected delight. The hot tub filled with natural spring water located next to the waterfall is an experience not to miss. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and furnished to a high standard being not too far from a choice of great pubs and farm shops catering for all needs providing you are able to negotiate plenty of steps, since the cottage is set over three levels. Having spent a week at Mill Cottage, we can understand why a return visit would be on the cards. L&T
