Nightingale Retreat Reviews

Emma
We had such a lovely stay! The hot tub was a real highlight, perfect for unwinding. It was great to relax outside while keeping an eye on the kids at the play area, which was ideal for our 5-year-olds. A perfect getaway for three generations!
Emma
We loved the stunning grounds and the peaceful vibe of this place. It’s perfect for families wanting some space but still hanging out together. The location is just breathtaking, honestly! We’d definitely come back for more relaxing weekends.
Martin
The place was pretty goodand there’s loads to do nearby. Had a few small maintenance issuesand the dishwasher’s a bit tiny for eight people, but they did leave plenty of tablets for us.
Emma Clarke
We had a fantastic stay! The property truly had everything we needed and more. The kids couldn’t get enough of the play areaand the hot tub was a hit with everyone. We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at The Cross Keys and appreciated how close the supermarkets were for easy restocking. A quick half-day trip to Shrewsbury showed us what a charming town it is. Can’t wait to come back in summer to enjoy the decking and BBQ!
Emma
The house was lovely, really well equippedand in such a beautiful spot. Our elderly guests and someone with mobility issues all found it very comfortable, which was great!
Oliver
We stayed here recentlyand the first thing that struck us was the great location! Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance, which made exploring so much easier. The area had a lovely vibe with plenty of cafes and shops around. Plus, the public transport links were spot on, giving us access to the rest of the city. We couldn't have asked for a better base for our trip!
Kerry
The property is in a beautiful location, but I wouldn't say its suitable for families with very young children due to the garden not being enclosed. My children are aged 1 and 2, and could easily fit though a gap in the hedge or the barrier which leads onto the main road. I don't think "enclosed" is at all suited, as the hedging surrounds a very sm all section of the property, but there is a communal gravel driveway at the end and you can easily access other properties on site.
Laura
We have no comments for improvement, the lodge was perfect for eight peopleand we would wholly recommend it. A wonderful relaxing week was had by all! Thank you.
Sophie
We absolutely loved it! It was beautiful and so relaxing, just what we needed. We’d definitely recommend this to our friends and familyand we’d give it a 5!
Emily
This lodge is fantastic and has everything you require. The hot tub is simply amazing! The surroundings are stunning too. We made full use of the tennis court and found loads of other equipment like badminton, footballand basketball. Although we were a group of adults, there’s also a lovely play area on site which is nice. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back. Just a tip, take your own games as many in the lodge had pieces missing, so we couldn't use them.
Mark
What a lovely spot with loads of facilities and equipment! It’s really spacious too. We definitely didn’t feel on top of each other at all.
Jane
We found the location of the property on site to be splendid. The outdoor furniture was really generous. The hot-tub was fantastic! We've used others on holiday, but this was definitely the best one. Loved the open plan living space too.
Hannah
We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it! The trampoline was a hit with the kids (and us too!). It really was peaceful and calm. Thanks for a truly amazing time!
Fiona
We had a brilliant week to just unwind and soak in the beautiful surroundings. Thank you!
Emily
We stayed here for our birthday celebrations and had a lovely and relaxing time! There were so many things at the place, so we didn’t need to bring any kitchen equipment or dishwasher stuff or even washing up stuff. All towels and flannels were providedand overall, it was a great little bolthole to explore the area.
Oliver
We booked Nightingale Retreat to celebrate my 50th birthday with the family. We were really impressed with the property; it’s finished to a really high standard and was just the perfect spot for my birthday celebration. We're definitely looking to book again in the summer since the weather was awful in February, but that didn't stop us from having a blast and the hot tub was fantastic in the cold and rain! Highly recommended.
Emily
Such a lovely place to stay, we’ll definitely be returning! The atmosphere was warm and welcomingand the staff were just amazing. The location is perfect for exploring the nearby attractions. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a pleasant getaway!
James
We just had a holiday with our three grown-up kids and their partners, so that's eight adults in total! The place was fantasticand the set-up couldn't have been better. Everyone really enjoyed the area and the bungalow!
Emma
What a lovely place! We really wished we could have stayed longer. The accommodation, views, area, hot tub and tennis courts were all excellent. Thanks so much to everyone. A beautiful spot to relax and unwind.
Charlotte
Excellent standard of all the equipment and furnishings, plus really clean. We've been here twice with friends, once in January 2020 and then again in September 2021and both times were quite different. The big grass area was perfect for playing croquet (our own set) and we really enjoyed watching the squirrels, magpiesand buzzards overhead. The motor on the hot tub was a bit intrusive at times, especially at night. Definitely check out the British Iron Works and park just a few miles away!
