Round House Reviews

Excellent place to stay, very comfortable with everything you need. Exceptional welcome gift. Would highly recommend.
Such a beautiful house with everything you need for a wonderful stay. The welcome pack was such a lovely touch and house instructions were very clear and helpful. The views over the Long Mynd were stunning and the well kept garden was a pleasure to sit in with a few drinks in the winter sun. The hot tub was the icing on the cake to an amazing weekend away with friends. Would highly recommend The Round House.
A beautifully kept house which was perfect for a groups of 6 friends meeting. Very spacious and the house and surroundings were so quiet. In walking distance of nice food and shops in Church Stretton and a thoughtful welcome pack. We still made use of the hot tub in winter and Im sure the garden would be even nicer in spring summer. Would definitely recommend. Thank you

Excellent accommodation for family group to celebrate 60th birthday. Easy walk into Church Stratton for coffee shops and local pubs.
Absolutely beautiful house and garden. Lovely, indulgent welcome pack and information on the surrounding area. We would definitely recommend and return.

Beautiful place relaxing and welcoming. Wonderful views.
Instructions for the tap, cooker and hob would be helpful. Also guide as to how to deal with the rubbish, both recycling and general. All six of us enjoyed our stay at The Round House.

It was perfect for what we needed. Such a great place & stunning location. We had to email the owner about something so still awaiting a reply on that. We did say in our comments in the feed back, great kitchen, but some open shelves or a cupboard to stored your own food would be really useful. And maybe instructions on the tap & coffee machines All of that aside we are thinking of re booking for the end of Sept 2025. Loved it.
Katheryn
A wonderful place to stay! The setting and views are spectacular. The Round House itself is beautifully designed, with thoughtful attention to detail, that immediately makes you feel welcome. The house has everything you need, and the hot tub is great, come rain or shine. A cut above in every way.
Pamela
Lovely property, everything we could wish for. Beautiful setting. Very comfortable. Only thing would have liked would have been a drawer unit in both en suite bedrooms as we had to share drawer space with other 2 bedrooms. Maybe somewhere in kitchen to store our cereals and bits, otherwise could not fault. Lovely toilet luxuries were very nice touch. Would book again. Thank you.
A beautiful property with wonderful views but we felt there were one or two issues with the kitchen we didnt think the tap was working properly and the draw below the hob took a few attempts to close properly. The automatic light coming on in the en suites was very annoying when using the bathroom during the night, both for dazzling the user and also for disturbing the person who was in the bedroom. However we were very impressed with the range of toiletries throughout the property, the provision of bathrobes, and the laundry facilities.
Colin Joseph
A lovely private property with tremendous views and beautiful gardens. Hot tub is a real bonus. All bedrooms are like hotel rooms although the toiletshower room light in the en suite rooms is a nuisance! Well equipped kitchen although a distinct lack of cupboard space for storing food. All in all a great place for a family stay

Lovely views of Long Mynd in a nice modern property that has good individual heating controls so each area can be at optimum temperature. Both lounge areas were very comfortable after making good use of walks and cycling nearby during the day. Movement sensors on ensuite bathroom lights were an issue as once in the shower the light would go out! With better mattresses fitted this could be a five star house note single beds are best suited for children.
We had a really fabulous time at the Roundhouse, it is unique & very comfortable with stunning views. Initially we struggled to work appliances as we didn't find any instructions for these, then after a couple of days found the oven instructions actually on the glass inside the oven door. Similarly there were 2 coffee machines & no instructions so we googled these as neither were working fully. We messaged the owner & a replacement part was ordered promptly for the milk wand. One of our party left a wallet in a bedside drawer with a considerable amount of cash in it. With great relief, his was returned immediately. I can't fault the service we received & the property really was first class.
Only drawback we experienced was lack of cafetire for eight guests. A single one was provided and coffee pods which none of us liked. As coffee drinkers after breakfast we had to purchase one for our use.
Michelle
What an amazing house. The best views we have ever had out of numerous holiday homes that we have stayed in over many years. Well equipped. Comfortable and warm. The hot tub was brilliant and much appreciated especially after our Long Mynd walk. The welcome cakes etc and particularly the lovely extra touches in the bathrooms we loved. We will definitely be back and will recommend to friends and family. Thank you. Michelle and Stuart

Perfect weekend stay for a group of friends who want a fun but relaxing weekend away. A very unique property in a great location. Walkable distance to walking routes, pubs and little shops. The attention to detail at the property is fantastic. 5 hosts! Highly recommend.
Roland
Superb location and accommodation. Well provided with basic essentials. The welcome offering of seasonal items of drink and festive eats was greatly appreciated and made our Xmas break even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend the Round House for a relaxing break.

Great house. Host was very good at communicating. Would recommend
Katherine
The only downside is there arent enough seats in the living space for 8 people. 2 guests sat on the floor in the kitchen space and downstairs in living area. We couldnt fit 8 of us in the hot tub. The WiFi kept dropping out in the evenings so the tv didnt play properly. Other than that we loved it! The little touches in the bathrooms, the coffee machine pods and saltpeppercooking oil. The property was very clean and the beds were so comfy! Beautiful location for walking also.ample parking for the group size.
A well presented, clean and stylish property. Lots of space and very comfortable. Great for groups or families.
Fantastic holiday let with luxurious comfort & home from home facilities. Location is perfect to explore the area, would highly recommend
A fabulous house with everything needed and more . Beautiful grounds with stunning views.Lovely hot tub.Within walking distance to the village.Cannot fault our stay and will definitely be returning.
Jocelyn
What a splendid holiday home. Everything you could want, and more. Glorious views, comfortable surroundings, wonderful hot tub. All in all really great! Thank you
Beautiful house with everything you need to make your stay perfect. The Round House is in a lovely location but remember the steep hill to walk back from the town centre!!!
Lovely property in a good location, good views from the house and really good facilities.
Stephen
We chose The Roundhouse mainly for its location, ratio of beds to baths and the hot tub, for a family three generation birthday weekend followed by an adult only few days as a reward to ourselves. The unique layout, quality of fixtures and fittings and all the little welcoming extras were an added bonus. What a great place and what a great time we all had. We loved the view and that we could walk everywhere from the house. Plenty of hiking options in all directions. When we werent BBQing, we enjoyed excellent meals at the Station Inn an adventurous hike over Ragleth Hill and at Jaipur in Church Stretton. All in all, a perfect week. A special thank you to Ferne the owner for excellent communications, dining suggestions and providing such a wonderful home from home.
Andrew
The cottage was superb in every way. The rooms were spacious, the gardens wonderful and the views spectacular. We came away for a writers retreat and it was lovely and quiet and the whole atmosphere led us into our creativity. The Kings Arms was wonderful and Jaipur has to be one of the best curry houses we've been to. Only downside was the uphill walk home but without it, we would not have had the views.
Superb accommodation set in a beautiful and peaceful location! The property is outstanding, immaculately furnished and has everything you need! Enjoyed the open plan kitchendiner with bifold doors onto the balcony overlooking garden and of course the hot tub was amazing! Approx 30mins from Shrewsbury, nice to wander into Church Stretton where there are a number of shops and pubs. We had lunch at The Pound Inn, just five minutes away by car, highly recommend! The Round House is a hidden treasure you won't want to leave!
Highly recommend the Round House. I stayed with 3 friends for the weekend. This property is like no other. The hot tub was lovely especially after the downfall of snow and minus temperatures. A well stocked kitchen, beautiful spacious bedrooms. The tropic toiletries were a plus too. Every little detail was amazing. Hopefully be back one day.
The most amazing place. The standard was first class. So many little extras that made it absolutely perfect.
Andrew
We loved the house and we really appreciated the thought that had gone into the architecture and interior design. It's a very well presented property, equipped to a high standard. The only thing we missed was a slotted spoon to use in the kitchen but that was all. The view and the privacy afforded by the the location were great. Other plus points were the hot tub, the choice of TV channels and the reliability of the wifi. Little extras such as biscuits, milk and the various toiletries were a nice bonus. We have stayed in many holiday lets and this was up there with the best.
Amanda
The property is stunning everything you need is there. We had a fabulous time during our stay. Gorgeous welcome afternoon tea with little cakes awaited us which was such a lovely touch. The only points for the owner is to make is clear what to take as we took the advised bin bags, oven gloves, tea towels , detergents etc and it was already there. Also when you have only booked two nights the checking in at 4pm is incredibly late and uses a massive chunk of the afternoon, and then having to check out by 10am! We were all extremely disappointed with that again all the time used by these check in limitations. If youre asking a big group to go by 10am striping beds taking rubbish to the bins is an extreme. We all loved the property but due to the restrictions in check in etc I think it out a lot of us off rebooking. Overall the house stunning.
Property was AMAZING, spotless, comfy beds, hot tub ready to go on arrival and perfect temperature. Excellent communication from owner and Sykes. Thoughtful touches welcome pack on arrival, message and weather for the week on a chalkboard, toiletries, directions with a photos to help recognise the driveway.
The roundhouse is beautiful, and the setting and views are amazing. The hot tub is also a great feature. The layout of the house is great and the furnishings were very comfortable. The robes were also a nice touch. There were 7 of us, and we all fit nicely and had a great time. A few points i would make that need improvements are that the hot water tap in the kitchen was very temperamental, and some of the house technology is just too much..a few to many spotlights too. The checkout is far too early when you have to empty all the bins, strip the beds, and leave the house clean and tidy. You pay a lot of money to stay here, so therefore, the checkout needs to be later to accommodate the owners' needs and so the guests do not have to get up at the crack of dawn.
