Dragon's Eye - Llygad y Ddraig Reviews

Jamie
We absolutely loved staying at The Dragon's Eye! It was just what we needed to escape the hustle and bustle and find some real peace and quiet. The stunning views really helped us unwindand we spent ages relaxing in the hot tub and cosying up by the fire. Feeding the donkeys was such a sweet touchand paddling around the lake was a lovely way to spend our day. We didn’t get to see the stars due to the fog, which was a bit of a shame, but overall, it was a fantastic weekend. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year!
Harper
We had an amazing weekend in the glass cabin, right by the wildlife. The donkeys were surprisingly friendlyand waking up to such stunning views was a real highlight for us. Thanks so much for the lovely stay and all your thoughtful touches - we’ll definitely be coming back!
Emma
Really enjoyed staying here, close to the sea and some charming towns. Would definitely recommend!
Harriet
The Dragon's Eye truly exceeded our expectations! It’s just as stunning in real life as it looks on the show. The sheep and donkeys added a lovely touch. Very peaceful surroundings. We really enjoyed cooking outside and stayed happily for over two nights! Such a great getaway.
Oliver
The views were stunningand the facilities really made the experience enjoyable. We had a great time!
Jamie Roberts
Honestly, this place has so much potential but is seriously let down by the state it's in. The entire site looks like it hasn't seen any proper maintenance in ages. The main feature, the dragon's eye and glass front, was filthy and falling apart - we had to fix leaks, paintand remove an old towel from leaks ourselves. The BBQ area was so dirty, it needed a good clean or replacing altogether. Same goes for the pizza oven and communal space, which both looked neglected. We were surprised how rarely the hot tub is checked or cleaned, if at all. The whole property and its surroundings need a proper deep clean - even the woodburner was covered in dust and cobwebs. The fire pit and logs were missing when we arrived, despite being told they’d be ready. We tried contacting the owner before arriving, but no reply at all, which was frustrating. Such poor customer service for a place in a busy tourist spot - really disappointing!
Emma
Great spot for exploring, comfy bedsand decent facilities, really enjoyed it!
Alex
The Dragon's Eye was a lovely spot, really well placed. We had a great weekend despite the weather being pretty grim, couldn't ask for more!
Alex
We had a lovely stay overall. The welcome hamper was a nice touchand the location isn’t far from the coast, which was handy. It’s a really peaceful area, perfect for relaxing, even if the weather was a bit dull with all the rain. Plenty of nearby spots for walks, towns to exploreand good places to eat with solid reviews. The coastal walk is worth it, just watch your step after rain. The jacuzzi was spotlessly clean and a real treat, especially after a day out.
Emily
Great place to unwind; we’ll be booking again for sure!
Emma
This cosy little spot in such a lovely part of Wales is charming. It’s a bit smaller than I expected and the amenities are quite limited, but the location makes up for it, especially in summer!
Alex
The lodge was super cosy and felt really welcoming. I loved the rotating bed - such a clever touch! Great for stargazing in the morning or having some quiet privacy at night. Definitely a stay to remember.
James
Really enjoyed our stay, the scenery was stunning and it’s perfect for a chill out away from the busy world. Definitely recommend it!
Lucy
We had such a lovely weekend at Dragons Eye! The setting is truly tranquil and just what we needed. We spent hours in the hot tub, enjoyed kayaking and the boatand the pizza oven was a hit. The games room kept us entertained too. The bed was super comfyand the place was spotless. Sitting on the deck with a drink, fire pit glowingand watching the views was perfect. The donkeys and geese were adorable. We’re definitely coming back soon!
Sophie
This place really surprised us! Beautiful scenery, super peaceful vibeand plenty to do. We loved every minute and already planning our next visit. Can’t wait to return!
James
We had an amazing 3-day stay in such a lovely spot. The weather was a bonus, but honestly, we enjoyed every single moment! Definitely recommend.
Alex
Stunning views and a peaceful spot, really enjoyed it here.
Emma
Honestly, we didn’t expect how remote the place was. We thought there would be scenic walks right outside but turns out, you need to drive quite a bit to find any proper nature trails. It’s got real potential but could do with a good clean - the place looked a bit tired. The roof had a leak too, with a puddle near the log burnerand during heavy rain, we could hear water pouring off the gutter. The owners seem to know their stuff, though, since there was a small towel behind the burner, probably to catch drips. The bed was comfyand we had a good laugh, enjoyed some wine and played cards. We did have a lovely time, but honestly, it’s not quite for us. We’d prefer something closer to the coast for future stays, but still, not a bad experience overall.
Emma
Cozy stay with friendly hosts, would recommend
Emma Clarke
We had a lovely stay! The owners were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us. The scenery was stunningand the cottage was super cosy, perfect for relaxing. We couldn’t explore as much because of the ice, but it’s still a peaceful retreat. Definitely hoping to return in warmer weather!
