Ger y Faen Reviews

Emma
Absolutely loved our stay! The place looks exactly like the pictures-no surprises there. They’ve really paid attention to every tiny detail, which is lovely. The staff felt like family, super friendly. Food at George Borrow and Halfway Inn was tastyand Aberystwyth has great supermarkets and fuel stations. The site’s scenery is stunning too!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay here! The owners are genuinely friendly and made us feel welcome from the start. The cottage had everything we needed, super clean and cosy, with comfy beds. The games room and hot tub were fantastic extras. It’s perfect for a peaceful getaway - we’d definitely come back for another relaxing break!
Alex
We had a really great time staying here! The cottage was spacious and exactly what we needed, with the sauna and hot tub being perfect after long walks in such stunning countryside. Our teens loved the games room, especially the pool and darts. The location was spot-on for exploringand the hosts, Edryd and Jane, were genuinely lovely and super helpful. We’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Thanks for a fantastic holiday - we’ll be back!
Mark
We loved the beautiful sceneryand Jane and Edryd made us feel really welcome. The hot tub and games room were a big hit. Definitely booking again next year-highly recommend!
Sam
We had an amazing time at the cottage! Everything was spotless and in top conditionand the hosts were super friendly and welcoming. The views of the countryside are absolutely breathtaking, perfect for anyone into birdwatching - we even caught a glimpse of a woodpecker at the feeder. The amenities are fantastic; we loved relaxing in the hot tub, playing games in the games roomand unwinding in the sauna after long walks. The log burner kept us cosy too. It’s a great spot to unwind, especially since Aberystwyth is just a twenty-minute drive awayand there are plenty of scenic walks nearby. The nearby Halfway Inn is a lovely place to grab a meal, though it’s only open Thursday to Sunday. Our little one, who’s just one, also enjoyed her stay - there’s a cot and high chair available free of charge. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
James
We had such a lovely stay at this cottage! The views are absolutely stunning, with sheep grazing just outside the windows, which made it feel so peaceful. The owners were incredibly welcoming and full of helpful tips about local spots to visit. The place itself was spotless and super cosy-everything we needed was there, even a washing machine with detergents, which was a nice surprise. We’d definitely come back again. Ohand their cat, Sinsie, made himself right at home with us. My girls loved himand honestly, so did we. All in all, a really great experience!
Emily
The cottage was super cosy and had all we needed. Hosts were friendly and really looked after us. Lovely stay!
Mark
Really enjoyed our visit! The new sauna and shower setup was a lovely touchand we felt genuinely welcomed throughout the stay.
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay here. The peaceful setting with lambs wandering around was adorable. The hot tub, saunaand games room kept us entertained. Plus, the local food tips were spot on. Overall, a wonderfully relaxing break. Thanks for a lovely time!
Emma
The hosts really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, no complaints at all.
Alex Turner
We had a generally comfy stay, but the kitchen utensils and crockery were quite disappointing. The biggest letdown was the Wi-Fi - it was advertised as available, yet we couldn’t get a signal all week. Not the owners’ fault, but it’s misleading to promote it as if it’s reliable. Wouldn’t rush back because of that.
Martin
Really straightforward website, booking was hassle-freeand communication was clear.
Emma
We loved the gorgeous setting and the friendly guests. The place felt really cosy, especially with the big log burner and the top-notch sauna. So relaxing sitting in the hot tub while snow fell-it was perfect. It’s like a home away from home, though during school holidays it’s a bit pricey for us.
